Lead Consultants were engaged to facilitate the fire safety upgrades of fifty Residential Aged Care Facilities throughout Queensland. The project intended to ensure compliance with the revised Queensland Development Code following the introduction of the Mandatory Part 2.3 legislation. This legislation was a wide-ranging update of fire safety standards which included but was not limited to fire suppression, smoke compartmentation, fire detection, emergency lighting and exit signage. Parallel legislative changes in New South Wales required similar works on the client’s two additional facilities in New South Wales. The project involved the extensive engagement of various internal and external stakeholders while adhering to a challenging construction timeline.
